Artist Statement Art is as necessary to me as air. For as long as I can remember
I have made marks on paper, beginning with crayons and finger painting.
Although my choice of medium has changed, my joy in art making has not.

It's that child within me that loves to find The Story in everything.
Who doesn't love a good story? I dig and explore to find ways to express
the Human Condition in story form. The ancient, the old and the forgotten
are reflected in my work. I love to incorporate ephemera and found objects
into my art. It reminds us of where we have come and what was once important.
It helps to steer us towards the future. My art is a moment, a slice in time,
between the past and the future. The art I create is about that in-between time,
usually the moment, the day, The Story.

I love to see the humor, the ridiculous and the beauty, in the world and in us; that is often reflected in my work. I subscribe to the philosophy of "don't take yourself too seriously"
and it is a common theme in the stories I tell through my art.
